As usual you have shared some great insights. Mothering Leadership is quite tricky because it is a combination of heart and intellect or some might call it intuition and knowledge or the Spirit and common sense. I think most women are talented at combining the two when making decisions in leadership roles. Unfortunately, half of that feminine combination is not often valued. I still remember my mom telling me I couldn't go to a certain activity because she didn't "feel right" about it. It wasn't very convincing at the time, but now I know what she was talking about because I have felt it. Once when my teenage son was going through a tough time the Spirit was telling me to take a certain action, but my husband thought differently. It took some time for me to be confident enough to insist, but it was a decision that changed my son's life for the better. I would love to hear more of your thoughts on the book and your experience.

I love this blog!!! You are a woman after my own heart! It is so hard to keep leading out; to keep improving. It takes work, but that's why we are here right?

I can't wait to hear what you find as you read the book. The book is meant to help free parents and children from the bondage of emotions and anxiety. I hope it does so for your family as you make the principles your own.

You may be wondering how I found you blog. Every once in a while I search my name for fun. Today, I found this when I did. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and fears and for your dedication to being a vailiant mother in these turbulant times too.

Warmly,
Nicholeen Peck

Yes, there will be times when your patience as a mother will be tested. As your child grow older, there is a stage when they think they are right and they impose what they want. Just be more patient. I'm pretty sure, when they grow up and have kids, they will surely look back and thank you for being patient and loving to them.

Your butterfly incident reminds me of a sad mishap I had with my daughter's beautiful yellow bird in April. When I think about the mistakes I have made with my children, I often think about a poem called "Thanks, Robert Frost" by David Ray.

Mr. Ray expresses perfectly what all parents feel, I think. We hope that, in spite of our frailties and mistakes, our children will rise above our flawed parenting.

Thanks for this blog. Good to know I am not alone in finding this mothering job hard sometimes!Even if one has a precious, healthy and (usually) happy little one I guess it can't all be smooth sailing!

I find the testing the boundaries thing and "throwing a frothy till I get my way" thing a bit tiring!

It's so crazy how I read your words and know JUST what you mean we have actually had this reality hit the fan not to long ago ourselves. I dont understand why it is SO easy to forget that our husbands are human and have needs -but we do! I love what you said about the children leaving eventually and YES one of the best things you can give them is an example of a healthy marriage where spouses come first! (Something that I learned from you not too long ago). It makes a beautiful foundation to a happy and healthy family! In one of her talks Lucille Johnson says -treasure your husband tickle him a bit, your children will leave you deary, and when they do HE'S IT! its a cute little rhyme that I've been using to remind myself of where my priorities REALLY need to be.

I appreciate all that you do, Diana. The sweetest thing in the world to me is to hear you tell me that you love me. You tell me when you ask me how my day was. You tell me when you hug me. You tell me when you make me feel important to you.

Thank you so much!
