Why I won’t be writing anything for a while

My husband has offered to put this online for me since I can’t make it downstairs where my computer is, nor will I be able to do so for quite some time as I’m sure you can see from the attached photo.

My new ankle

More photos can be found here.

I had an accident outside one of our local malls on January 13, 2007. It resulted in a tibia/fibula trimalleolar fracture. (This means I broke both my leg-bones at the ankle in 3 places). The worst part is that I’m completely bed-ridden right now, and will be for at least the next 6 weeks. I get up to crutch my way to the bathroom and to shower, then I’m right back in bed (or in my La-z-boy) with my leg elevated.

This is really rough on my family right now. Perhaps I will chronicle some of my experiences when I have healed some. In the meanwhile, I am making the best of a rather horrible situation. My husband prints and brings to me all of your comments, so don’t hesitate to send those if you think I won’t receive them.

  • Hi Diana,
Get well soon. You must be in so much pain. You should consider getting a laptop, so you can keep your blog going.
Anyway, I just happened upon your blog. I was thinking about starting my own blog, and was thinking of what I should write about. I typed in Postpartum depression blog in Google and this is what I found.
Even though I started suffering from PPD & PPOCD when my twins were born and that was 9 years ago, and I have been feeling better for about 6 years now, it still is hard some days. Especially the “Mommy Guilt”. When I was in the throes of my depression, all I wanted to do was talk about it, but I was fairly new to the internet and I don’t think blogging was available back then (at least I didn’t know about it). I wanted to ‘spread the word’ to anyone that would listen. (my poor friends) Thank goodness you have this outlet. Keep it up. Talk therapy never hurt anyone and even if no one talks back (ie: comments), know that others are listening (reading), and learning from you. It is like one big support group, where even the shy ones can benefit from the wealth of information from people like you. Thank you for having the courage to write your personal story, and I too, will soon be publishing my own blog.
Take care of yourself!! You do make a difference!!!
