About me

Mothering has become one of the most important things in my life. I became a mother fifteen years ago when my first little girl was born. I didn’t understand a lot about mothering at that time, but who does with their first?

My oldest child is from my first marriage.   I had been a single mom for two years when my sweetheart came along.  Of course I was cautious, I had my heart broken many times before by men who did not want to be an insta-dad.  I told my husband that he had better think seriously about the fact that I was a packaged deal and to make sure he was ready to be a father, (he started talking marriage on our second date). He just took my hands in his, looked me in the eyes and said, “I am luckier than most men because I get to see what kind of a mother my wife will be before I marry her.” I was so surprised! I had never been told anything like that in my life.

The rest is history. We have been together for twelve wonderful years since then. We have also added six children to our already existing one.  I have chosen to stay at home to raise our little ones, while he does the marvelous job of providing for us. We also have chosen to home-school our children. As you may well guess this makes my life extremely busy. So if you do not see me post regularly this is why.

Our children are all less than two years apart with the exception of our oldest who is four years older than her next sibling and our youngest who is four years younger than the next youngest child. I love being a mother. It brings me great joy and fulfillment.

A little more about me: I am educating myself so that I may be able to use my mind, grow and learn. I am currently studying the founding of our country and the constitution.  I am studying Neuro-Kinesiology and enjoying that journey.   I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and many of my beliefs about motherhood are directly related to what the gospel teaches about mothers and their important role in this life. I love to cook and experiment with new foods. I also like to write as evidenced by this blog. I enjoy photography, and hope to improve my skill in this area.  I am grateful to have a husband who is so supportive of all the things that I want and need to do.

That’s a bit about me.
